The City of Noblesville has announced the tentative schedule to address road infrastructure changes that will be made to Ninth and Cherry streets during the next two weeks (weather permitting). Details of the construction work include:
- Beginning Monday, Aug. 15 or Tuesday, Aug. 16, Cherry Street between Ninth and Tenth streets will be closed as storm inlets need to be reconstructed. Noblesville Utilities will build new pipes along Cherry Street. Work is expected to last three days.
- Ninth Street will be milled on Thursday, Aug. 18; Friday, Aug. 19; and Monday, Aug. 22. Work will start at Christian Avenue and move north to Maple Avenue. No road parking will be permitted as work takes place. Several side streets between Christian and Maple will be milled and repaved as well between Eighth and Tenth streets. The milling of Cherry Street will take place on Monday, Aug. 22 and will require the road to be closed.
- Paving will take place from Tuesday, Aug. 23 through Friday, Aug. 26. Resurfacing will begin with Cherry Street before moving to Ninth Street, heading south from Maple Avenue to Christian Avenue.
Weather permitting, the work will be conducted during normal daytime hours. Street parking will be allowed at night and no parking hours will be posted on signs. The work on Ninth and Cherry Streets is part of the City of Noblesville’s “Making Moves” road rehabilitation project. This year’s infrastructure work, which totals approximately $2 million, has expanded to include more work than in years past – an increase of $500,000 over the total spending in 2015.
