“The First Amendment guarantees that our citizens’ right to peaceably assemble and petition the government for redress of grievances will forever be protected. Our community and state have a strong tradition of taking non-violent action to advocate for and achieve social change. I support and defend the rights of citizens who wish to peacefully protest against racial injustice and other forms of oppression or inequality. What happened in Minneapolis was wrong. I want residents to feel safe in their homes, walking on our sidewalks and visiting or operating places of business. Noblesville is an incredibly spirited and thoughtful community where neighbors help neighbors and take pride in their city. We will do all we can to promote and support those compassionate characteristics that make me proud to be mayor of my hometown.”
