Noblesville Mayor Chris Jensen announced the appointment of Savannah Solgere as Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Noblesville. Savannah's official start date will be May 20, 2024.

"We are thrilled to welcome Savannah Solgere to the City of Noblesville. Her extensive experience and strong alignment with the priorities of my administration, the Common Council's fiscal priorities, and her unwavering focus on community wellbeing, will undoubtedly make her a valuable addition to our community," said Mayor Chris Jensen. "We have a lot of positives to build upon in parks and recreation contexts. With her experience in the parks and recreation field, she will deliver the leadership and knowledge to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on new initiatives to enhance our Parks and Recreation Department. We look forward to the positive impact she will bring to the City of Noblesville."

Savannah brings a wealth of experience and education to this role, earning a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and a Master of Science in Recreation Administration from Indiana University Bloomington, along with the Certified Parks and Recreation Professional credential. She comes to Noblesville from the City of Lebanon, where she was an Assistant City Planner and Project Manager, and focused on projects that included recreational and greenspace components. Prior to that, Savannah served as the Parks Director for the Town of Whitestown, where she managed a 1.8-million-dollar budget, produced a 5-year master plan for the parks, managed staff, fundraised for the Parks Foundation, and oversaw daily operations of the department.

In her new role as the Parks and Recreation Director, Savannah Solgere will oversee a team of more than 30 full-time employees who maintain more than 800 acres of parks, greenspaces, and golf course properties, plus an extensive trail network.  She will bring to the role her experience of managing complex budgets and fostering collaborative work environments. She is committed to working closely with community stakeholders to find opportunities for collaboration, including the Parks Foundation, Nickel Plate Express, Noblesville Creates, Main Street, Boys & Girls Club, schools, and local youth sports organizations, among other groups. In collaboration with the parks team, her focus will be on fostering the wellbeing and impact of the parks department on the community and city employees.

Expressing her enthusiasm for the new role, Savannah Solgere, the newly-hired Noblesville Parks and Recreation Director, said, "I'm thrilled to be joining the City of Noblesville and I'm excited about the future of this department. I see a wealth of opportunities to make a positive impact and collaborate to prioritize the wellbeing of the overall community, and I'm deeply grateful for this opportunity."
