Noblesville fire and police departments are on the scene of a cut gas line, working with Hamilton County Emergency Management in the area of Moontown Road and State Road 32.

A 22-inch gas pipe is leaking and has caused officials to establish a 1,000-foot perimeter. Noblesville first responders are going door-to-door in the evacuation area asking residents to leave. The community room at Fire Station No. 76, 16800 Hazel Dell Road, is available for anyone displaced and needing somewhere to go. The station has water, restrooms and someone staffing the room.

First responders are evacuating the Villages at Pebble Brook and Cranbrook neighborhoods. The leak has caused roads to be blocked at Castamere and Moontown, Racebrook and Ashbrook and Bentgrass and Ashbrook. Anyone with tee times should contact Pebble Brook Golf Course about course availability.

The gas pipe is operated by Eastern Panhandle. The western shutoff valve is closed and they are shutting the valve on the eastern end of the leak now. It is expected to take two to three hours to bleed down the line. This will affect State Road 19 as Eastern Panhandle will be bleeding gas from their station just north of 206th street and have asked that 19 be shut down while that occurs.

The fire department has been in contact with Noblesville Schools and coordinating messaging has been sent out to parents of Hazel Dell Elementary School. While the school is a safe distance away and should not be impacted by the leak, students were kept inside for recess as an extra precaution. Parents living in the evacuation area have been contacted about arrangements after school.
