Who Must Appear
There are certain charges for which you must appear in Court: some of these are listed below and/or any offense for which you are told to personally appear by the arresting officer or court personnel.

Dog Running at Large/Animal Violations

Driving While Suspended

Failure to Yield to Emergency Vehicle

Illegal handicapped parking

No Insurance Violation - Operating without Financial Responsibility
- Alcohol Violation
- Curfew Ordinance Violation
- Golf Cart Violation

Passing School Bus while loading or unloading

Probationary/Learner's Permit Violation

Speeding in a School Zone
-
Watercraft/Boating Violation
- 26 MPH and over Speed Limit
- Possession of Tobacco or Electronic Cigarette

All other moving violations please contact the Court
Note: All persons under 18 years of age MUST APPEAR in Court with a parent or guardian (except for seatbelt violations).
Appearing in Court

If your charge(s) is not a Must Appear and you still want to appear in open Court, you may still do so. Your Court date is your Initial Hearing date and can be located at the bottom of your ticket. If you are unable to appear on your scheduled date, you may contact the Court to reschedule your Initial Hearing Date at (317) 776-6344.

Initial Hearings are held only on Tuesdays, there are two sessions: Morning session begins at 8:30 a.m. and the Afternoon session at 1:30 p.m. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to start time.
Note: The appearance date on the bottom of your ticket is for your Initial Hearing only. The officer who issued the ticket is NOT required to be present for your Initial Hearing.
