The police department's aim is to provide information and services necessary to reduce crime, the fear of crime, and to improve the quality of life in our community. The department is working with the community toward a common goal of having the safest streets and neighborhoods possible.

The Noblesville Police Department is seeking qualified applicants who can serve the city in that capacity. Upon being hired, a recruit officer will be required to successfully complete the 16-week Basic Law Enforcement Officer Course at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) in Plainfield, Indiana. The academy experience provides recruits with the extensive education, training, and skills necessary to excel in his/her role as a Noblesville Police Officer. Once completed, the recruit officer will then return to the Noblesville Police Department where he/she will then complete a 16-week Field Training and Evaluation Program. During this portion of training, the recruit will be assigned to several different experienced Field Training Officers and a variety of shifts. The recruit will work and train under the watchful eye of the Field Training Officer who will build upon the knowledge, training, and skills he/she learned at the academy. The recruit will be evaluated on a daily basis and given constant feedback on ways in which to improve performance in preparation for release to solo patrol status at the conclusion of the Field Training and Evaluation Program. Upon successful completion of the Field Training and Evaluation Program, the recruit will be assigned to the Patrol Operations Division where he/she will perform various patrol functions. These will include responding to calls for service, enforcement of laws, apprehension of violators, investigating crimes, traffic enforcement, resolution of family disturbances, and crash investigation. All officers are also expected to be proactive and solve problems as needed in their assigned area. Noblesville Police Officers will receive continuous training throughout their careers. They are provided with the opportunity to attend specialized schools and training to assist them in meeting their full potential. Qualifications

1. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
2. Must have successfully received a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
3. Shall be at least 21 years of age, and under the age of 40 by the date of appointment or be a veteran who has at least 20 years of service in the armed forces and be no older than 40 years and 6 months by the date of appointment. 
4. Must be drug-free and have no convictions for operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs.
5. Must not have used any illegal drugs in the past three (3) years.
6. Must have no convictions for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, or operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08% or above. 
7. Must possess a valid Indiana driver's license (or obtain within 60 days of becoming an Indiana resident) and have no more than six (6) active points.
8. Must have no record of a felony conviction.
9. Must have no convictions for any Class A misdemeanor.
10. Must have no convictions for domestic violence. 
11. Must have no more than two (2) alcohol-related violations as a minor (18-21 years of age).
12. Must not have been dishonorably discharged from the military.
13. If appointed, shall establish residency as required by state law and local ordinance.

The City of Noblesville pays 80% of the medical, dental, and vision premiums for the employee.

SECTION 125 - FLEX SPENDING:
Flex Spending enables you to reimburse yourself for un-reimbursed health care or dependent care expense using pre-taxed payroll deducted dollars.

EQUIPMENT & UNIFORMS:
Keeping with the progressive attitude of a modern police department in a diverse community, equipping personnel with state-of-the-art police tools is essential. Officers are provided with all uniforms, weapons, leather gear, bulletproof vest, and all other equipment necessary to do the job. 

LIFE INSURANCE:
Employees are provided life insurance by the city in the amount of $50,000.00. Additional life insurance can be elected for yourself and/or your dependents through Cincinnati Life. 

RETIREMENT:
The City of Noblesville and the employee contribute money towards future retirement under the 1977 Police Officer's and Firefighter's Pension. Normal retirement occurs with 20 years of service. Your compensation would be 52% of the annual salary of a First Class Patrolman's pay. An additional 2% per year may be earned up to 32 years of service. DEFERRED COMPENSATION:
As a city employee, you are eligible to participate in the deferred compensation program.

COLLEGE CHOICE - 529 PLAN:
Save and invest for future college tuition for dependents through payroll deduction.

WELLNESS BENEFIT:
City employees and their families are encouraged to use any of the fitness sites located throughout the city. Officers are allowed to use three hours per week for physical fitness training while on duty and can receive fitness direction from several fitness instructors within the city.

Sick Time:
Police Department employees earn seven (7) hours of sick time per month.

Holidays:
The City of Noblesville recognizes major holidays, typically around eleven (11) days per year.

OTHER BENEFITS:
Police Officers are eligible for the take-home car program after all initial training is completed and approved by the Administration.

COLLEGE EDUCATION INCENTIVES:
Police officers receive the following compensation for completing educational degree programs. This amount is paid from the date of hire.

LONGEVITY PAY:
Police officers receive $120.00 for each calendar year for the 1st through 19th years of service. Police officers receive $250.00 for each calendar year of service at the anniversary of their 20th year of consecutive employment for the remainder of their career.
